The Fenton Arts Council (FAC) is bringing art to the community through a series of eight pop-up activity stations this fall. This is en lieu of the Arts are the Heart weekly events normally held over the summer.

According to the FAC, each challenge is created to be interactive for friends and families and multi-generational. The FAC encourages photos of the participation to share to social media with the hashtag “PopUpPostFenton.”

There are already several challenge stations set up in Fenton. The first challenge is at Uncle Ray’s Dairyland at 1462 N. LeRoy St. This is a “Create Your Own ‘Silly Walk’” challenge, encouraging anyone to do a silly dance and take a photo and share online.

The rest are at the Fenton Area Schools Ellen Street Campus — World of Wonder at 404 W. Ellen St. One example, “Chalk Your Walk” challenge, invites participants to use provided chalk to make art on the sidewalk, take photos and post to social media.

There will be more challenges in coming weeks. Follow “Fenton Arts Council” on Facebook for more updates.

The Fenton Kiwanis, City of Fenton Arts and Culture Commission and Parks and Recreation Board have also joined in the project.

It was funded in part by grants and millage dollars.
