From North Miami to Kendall to Key Biscayne and down the Florida Keys, Miami-Dade and Monroe county residents on Tuesday will select their voices in Tallahassee by voting for representative in the Florida House. Some races will be decided on Tuesday; others in November.

Departmental staff in charge of running Melbourne’s quarantine hotels were more concerned with appeasing guests than infection control, according to a nurse who worked at the troubled facilities.
Some guests were given extra so-called “fresh air” breaks and took advantage of the increasingly relaxed system, threatening to self-harm if they were not given allowances to leave their rooms, the nurse — who does not want to be named — said.
“Your call is important to us. All our representatives are currently assisting other customers. Your estimated wait time is two to three hours.”
That was a message a lot of travelers heard in March as they called into online booking sites attempting to rebook their travel plans or get a refund. When they finally were able to speak to a live person, in many cases, they weren’t offered much help.
