Tropical Storm Watch issued for South Florida; Isaias expected to become a hurricane

South Florida was put under a tropical storm watch Thursday afternoon with Isaias expected to approach Florida and the Bahamas as a Category 1 hurricane by Saturday.

In an 11 p.m. update, the National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Isaias will see some loss in forward speed over the next couple of days and then a turn north-northwest.

The center of Isaias is forecast to move near or over the Southeastern Bahamas late Thursday night, then move near or over the Northwestern Bahamas and near South Florida on Saturday.

The storm has already crossed the mountains of Hispaniola while flooding roads and homes in Puerto Rico and blowing roofs away in Haiti.

The tropical storm watch is in effect from Ocean Reef northward to Sebastian Inlet, Florida, Thursday afternoon.

Miami-Dade County also announced that all facilities operated by the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, including beaches and

Mind-bending sci-fi films to watch online now Tenet has been delayed

It’s the news film fans had been dreading – Christopher Nolan’s mind bending sci-fi epic Tenet has been delayed indefinitely, with Warner Bros temporarily pulling it from their release calendar.

It was supposed to be the cinematic event of the summer, with an astronomical $200m (£157m) budget and a secretive plot – all we know so far is that it involves John David Washington’s special agent and his attempts to prevent a conflict “worse than World War III” through the manipulation of time.

All is not lost, though. The delay gives film lovers plenty more time to explore incredible time-twisting epics at home, and get their sci-fi references on point before the film eventually arrives.

From modern masterpieces to classics of the genre, these are some of the most ambitious and mind-bending sci-fi movies to discover from home after Tenet’s delay.

Unilever first-half results: Thursday 23 July

Despite the relative defensive nature of its business, Unilever’s shares are down year-on-year. This is partly down to a weak end, by Unilever’s high standards at least, to 2019. Back in December the company dished out a mild profit warning, noting that sales for the year would come in below guidance. Underlying revenues ultimately rose 2.9pc year-on-year, below the company’s long-term target range of 3pc

Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford Share Why It’s ‘Uncomfortable’ for Them to Watch ‘Gossip Girl’

Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford are reflecting on their Gossip Girl days. On the latest installment of Variety‘s Actors on Actors series, the former co-stars reminisce about their time on the teen soap and reveal why they don’t watch episodes of it today.

While Badgley watched the series with his wife, Domino Kirke, years back, he didn’t have a positive viewing experience.

“She had never seen it, and that’s the last time I can remember seeing an episode. I remember even then, it has nothing to do with the show, but it was very hard to watch,” he recalled. “These snapshots of yourself when you’re 20, 21, 22 years old. Who can enjoy that? Sometimes it’s just uncomfortable.”

Despite that experience and not having seen the show “in so long,” Badgley admitted that it’d be “very interesting to watch it now.”

“Buddy, you have to strap me to a

The 2020 ‘ring of fire’ solar eclipse occurs Sunday. Here’s how to watch online.

A “ring of fire” solar eclipse will briefly appear in parts of Africa and Asia this weekend, and if you aren’t out there in person, you can take in the spectacular show online.

Sunday’s solar eclipse is what is known as an annular eclipse, in which the moon does not completely cover the sun as it passes between the star and Earth as seen from our planet. Instead, a ring of sunlight will still shine around the outer edge, hence its nickname: a “ring of fire” eclipse.

The time of maximum eclipse, when that “ring of fire” event happens, will be at 2:40 a.m. ET on Sunday when the moon crosses into the center of the sphere of the sun from Earth’s perspective. The eclipse starts at 11:45 p.m. ET on June 20 and ends at 5:34 a.m. ET, according to NASA.
